Jaren geleden, ben voor het eerst in mijn leven onderweg naar Eindhoven. In alle vroegte scoor ik een broodje bij wat nu de Broodexpress is en hobbel de trein in. Dat ik een broodje kaas met een blaadje sla, schijfje tomaat en een plak komkommer (die ik er kansloos afschuif) heb lijkt misschien een nutteloze toevoeging, maar laat ik het zo zeggen. Ergens op dat broodje zat de reden dat ik de toiletjuffrouw op station Eindhoven nog steeds groet.<\/p>\n

De treinreis duurde lang, te lang. Op Tilburg dacht ik nog, we zijn er zo, maar het was kort na dat station dat ik echt misselijk begon te worden. En dan duurt het lang. Het verergerde met de minuut tot ik niet meer op durfde te staan bang dat ik het gangpad onder handen zou nemen.<\/p>\n

Eenmaal op Eindhoven vroeg ik rennend aan de conducteur waar het toilet was, hij wees me en ik haalde het. Alsof de toiletjuffrouw wist dat ik eraan kwam, opende ze het poortje wees me de goede kant op en terwijl dat broodje al snel vertrokken was regelde zij een vochtig handdoekje en een wegwerptandenborstel. Ook voor toen was dat al bijzonder en nadat ik haar hartelijk bedankt had uiteraard met een mooi bedrag, zocht ik mijn bezorgde date op het perron op.<\/p>\n

De date liep uit op een langdurige relatie en het was dan een week na het minder charmante voorval toen ik weer op station Eindhoven kwam. Ik bracht de toiletjuffrouw een grote bos bloemen en doos chocola en bedankte haar nogmaals. De bepaald niet fantastische relatie hield lang stand maar nog altijd als ik die toiletjuffrouw zie bedenk ik me dat zij die dag de mooiste kennismaking was en dat ik het daar misschien beter bij had kunnen laten.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
